SMS Marketing
Short codes are memorable five digit SMS text numbers (e.g. 80011) which are widely used to interact with your prospective customers. Once a campaign has been sent via Bluetooth, your marketing messages can include a short code so that the user can respond to your campaign. This works by the user texting a keyword (e.g. YOUR COMPANY OFFER) to the short code. You can either charge at their standard SMS network rate or have a premium rate service to request further content.
The last 12 months has seen a huge increase in the use of SMS short codes in marketing campaigns, both as an outbound channel and as a Direct Response mechanism for TV, Radio, and print advertising. The use of SMS short codes has a number of advantages over other marketing communication channels:
- Short codes are more memorable than long phone numbers and web site names
- All enquiries come from interested customers and are easily followed up
- Short codes engage your prospects at the point of display
- Short codes are an effective and immediate call to action
- Capture consumer data; you instantly receive the customer’s mobile number for follow up
- Short codes are particularly effective when used in conjunction with special offers and promotions. And they are viral: people forward mobile messages
- Measure your SMS marketing campaigns accurately and immediately
- All the messages that you receive can be viewed in your LiveAd Mobile Inbox
